How to help the Indiana Buddhist Temple
Indiana Buddhist Temple is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization - tax exempt organization.
One of the key actions of Buddhism is dana. This is related to our word, "donation", but also includes sharing, selfless giving without worrying about getting something in return. Practicing dana by making a donation of money, time and/or labor allows us to continue offering the teachings to others without cost. The temple was built and is maintained only by the generosity of all of you who value the teachings. We are accepting donations by cash, checks and credit card link below. Thank you for your generous supports. All donations are 100% tax deductible to the extent of the IRS current regulations.

Robes Offering to MonksMeal Offering to SanghaConsidering many of our supporters are busy, live outside of Fort Wayne and even international, we open an account to allow most of our Dhamma friends an opportunity to offer a meal Dana to the Sangha. We wish this monthly grocery Dana concept will increase participation of generous donors who wish to support.
The giving and receiving of alms creates a spiritual connection between the monastic and lay communities. Laypeople support the monks physically, who study and practice the Buddha's teachings, by offering them food and daily monastic necessities. At the same time, we learn to give and to let go. The monks support the community spiritually. You may choose a day of the month and sign up for the monthly Dana donation. You may include special dedication for the dana. This program allows a specific day of each month dedicated for you and your family to offer Meal Dana/offerings of other requisites to the Sangha. For example: if you choose your day of the month as the 15th. Every month on the 15th will be the Dana day by you and your family. If you are available on the assigned day, you may come and offer the meal physically at the temple. If you are not available, Dana will be offered on your behalf with the support of local volunteers, who will shop, prepare and offer the meal to the Sangha. We welcome cash, check or credit card. You may sign up online to make a PayPal monthly donation. This will be a monthly recurring donation. You do not need a PayPal account to sign up. |
